The Entrepreneur:
Philipp-M. Bauer

After completing training and studying business administration, Philipp-M. Bauer has been very successful in his parents’ business since 2003 – now in the third generation. With him, the Bauer scale factory has become an international trading company and together with his father, Franz Josef Bauer, the Bauer scale factory has found its way back to the leading manufacturers in the scale industry.

„I always wanted to become a “scale”! No firefighter, no astronaut and no cowboy! It fills me with being able to continue our family tradition.”

He is proud, the Bauma clientele to be able to offer the largest range of scales in the industry. Furthermore, he attaches great importance to the domestic, exclusive manufactory and it is particularly important to him to use the most innovative and modern printing technology and to stand up to the state of the art in production.

There is a lot in the location Germany! “Global thinking, acting nationally.” – has since been his motto. With this high level of responsibility, we must continue to operate successfully in the future.

Company founded by Josef Bauer, who had planned a concrete plant on the property of the family farm in Ottobrunn near Munich.

Takeover of the company Gebrüder Baldauf, a measuring tool manufacturer founded in 1860 from Neckarsulm, which at the time was regarded as Germany’s oldest measuring tool manufacturer.

After many years of hard work in Laufen a. d. Salzach built a secondary plant. Running became the headquarters of the company three years later and has remained so until today.

1963
Franz Josef Bauer takes over the company. The company is growing enormously and is expanding at home and abroad. BAUMA is establishing itself more and more as a brand.

Foundation and inauguration of the new scale and measuring tool factory in Oberndorf, Austria. This plant was ahead of its time and equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and innovative technologies, such as state-of-the-art plastic scale production, numerous patents and a large sawmill. Approximately 100 employees were employed at BAUMA in Oberndorf alone.

Invention of the most successful scale fitting to date – birth of the angle fitting. Shortly thereafter, the patent application of Bauer scale factory (patent number P 35 79 985.4-08). To date, this fitting is installed in the model B400 and is considered the original angle fitting.

The third generation is Philipp-M. Farmer in the company. He greatly expanded the product range in the first years. In addition to the company’s own production, the trade is also becoming increasingly important at BAUMA.

BAUMA is one of the first companies in the industry to establish image prints by standards and thus set a significant and well-respected milestone. Shortly thereafter, images can also be realized on colorful painted scales. To date, BAUMA fulfills its customers almost every design requirement.

A new advertising slogan will be a program at BAUMA! Since then, it has been called “Color your business”. From 2012, the customer will have 14 basic paints available on a Bauer wood scale model, which are already available from small quantities. Shortly afterwards, in the year 2014, the respective color spectrum was extended. Now our customers have 19 primers available!

Unser 2013 eingeführtes Qualitätsmanagement, wurde von zwei unabhängigen Stellen, unter anderem TÜV Süd nach der DIN Norm ISO 9001: 2008, sowie CE-zertifiziert. Wir erreichen durch die hohe Fachkompetenz und durch die Nutzung moderner Technologien die erforderliche hohe Qualität der Erzeugnisse. Die Sicherheit und Gesundheit unserer Mitarbeiter hat höchste Priorität, da die Motivation, das Wissen und Können, sowie das Engagement eines jeden Mitarbeiters, die grundlegende Voraussetzung für den Erfolg unseres Unternehmens ist.

70 years Bauma. Over 150 years of know-how! For this occasion, the follow-up audit according to DIN ISO 9001: 2015 has been successfully completed and the machine park has been expanded and modernized.
